This course is designed to introduce you to the important features and characteristics of the advertising business in the United States. It is intended to give you an overview of how the advertising industry operates, what ad people do, and some of the effects of advertising on industry and society.
An understanding of advertising should be useful to those who would like to consider an advertising or mass media career, as well as those who are simply curious about the messages that surround us all. The course provides an overview of advertising rather than practice in advertising techniques.
