COM113 Research and Writing Development Students will learn to research and write papers in all their subject areas with this thorough and complete course to research in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, and business. The course provides discipline-specific guidance and sample papers that reflect differences in presentation characteristics of each discipline. Topics include research in various disciplines, the importance of research, libraries and general library resources, the library reference area, general reference works, locating books and resources, planning your research paper, rhetorical situation and organization, outlining and drafting your research paper, constructing an outline or plan, drafting your paper, revising your research paper, and many other topics.
