CRJS 111 Introduction Corrections Corrections is a system composed of large and small organization, administered by various levels of government, seeking to achieve complex and sometimes competing goals through professional and nonprofessional employees who are put in contact with one another in direct authority over offenders. The course will examine the framework as we discuss each element of the subject. Diverse aspects of this complex yet dynamic field are unified for students, later as correctional researchers or practioners, and as citizens. Academically, corrections is interdisciplinary. Sociology, psychology, history, law and political science contribute significantly. .American
